Well yesterday marked the end of my 10 day Pay It Forward giveaway here on the Green Island Studios blog.

I have just entered all of the entries into the random number generator and it came up with lucky number 43!! That's you Sabine, La Marquise des anges, congratulations on winning the June Giveaway!!

Sabine chose Sea Pinks as her prize, so I will hand print it this week and it will be winging its way to Sabine in the South Of France very soon.

The happy days picture featured on today's post is one of a series i took a few years ago and lost... but I stumbled across a shoe box full of discs this week as I was clearing out at my studio and was pleased to find a whole load of "lost" art :)) More to follow soon

I have had a bittersweet week this week, as I got together with two different groups of my photography students to hang and open their end of year shows.

I recently wrote a GCSE darkroom photography course, and this year I delivered it twice weekly to my first guinea pigs cohort - a group of 14 to 22 year olds at a local sixth form college.

After a year of hard work and an extremely steep learning curve, working with manual film cameras and printing in a black and white darkroom, they have produced some outstanding work. I was so proud to see them gathered with their wonderful work last night and really really sad that I won't be seeing them weekly anymore... Although I know we will all stay in touch... I'm missing them already :(

My more mature HND commercial photography group also had their opening night of their show last night, and I am proud to say that their work is diverse and of a high standard. It was lovely to see them all and admire their work on the walls of the gallery.

All the names went into my wide brimmed sun hat yesterday, and a name was duly drawn. Congratulations go out to LittleLovelies, the lucky winner of my April Pay-It-Forward Free Art Giveaway.

Nadine of LittleLovelies chose "Build Me Up Buttercup" as her favourite picture in my Etsy shop and so I am glad to make her wish come true. She can now look forward to receiving her artwork, usually priced $30 in my online shop, hand printed by me at Green Island Studios on beautiful fine art watercolour paper.

I look forward to hearing how Nadine plans to continue to pay-it-forward herself. And as I have enjoyed being part of this pay-it-forward thing so much, I think I will do another one soon. It seems like a good idea to just start generating pay-it-forwards for the pure pleasure of it, sending them out round the planet bringing happiness and good cheer, and more importantly, to encourage others to get involved in paying good fortune forward wherever they can.
