Winter Wonderland

The snow just keeps on coming!!  We Brits are just not used to getting snow like this down in the southern end of the island.... This is like a Cornwall I have never known, and being the big kid that I am, the novelty of the wintery white landscape has not worn off for me one little bit.

As I look out my window now, there are thick flurries of snowflakes billowing in the gusting South Easterly Gale force winds.  Definitely not a day for venturing too far from home!!

I thought you may like to see a few of my Polaroids from my 365 ways to say goodbye project.

Deciding to use only expired polaroid film and 40 year old cameras is presenting daily difficulties and the occasional near meltdown as I have to undertake late night strip down and repairs to the old kit, but so far so good, I have delivered my first 11 pictures on time and I am enjoying working with a medium that you can't photoshop, or crop or otherwise alter in the post processing stage.  I just scan my daily 'roids, adjust them slightly until they exactly match the original, warts and all, and that's it! Simple :)

Here are 2 of my favourites so far.

Unusual snow in southern england, unusual heat in Cairo! This could be the first cold day of this winter adn its only 19 degrees!
Again and as always your photos are beautiful. They give me a sense of cosiness and simplicity.

I'm posting a link on my blog to yours, it's too good to keep to myself :)

They are simply beautiful Jo!! Can I tell you that I love my calendar, and I framed that gorgeous card that you sent me with the burgundy flower and it is stunning ( big wide mat) I just love all of what you do!
Enjoy the snow, I too love it but we don't see it too often...

I'm sure I've already said it, but I really admire your 365 project! I wish you all the best for more rewards than challenges, but both come together I guess. :)

As for the snow, I highly recommend a pair of Xcountry skis!! :) Soooo wonderful to go exploring. Your description of the crazy weather reminded me of childhood in the Rockies when Mom would command (during an all-out blizzard), "You kids are driving me crazy. Go outside and play!" And we did... for hours at a time! High on the list of my fondest memories. :)

Hi there! I found you blog when I was browsing through on Etsy. I love all the pictures on snow that I find in various blogs!
I do miss taking photographs of snow, we do not have lots of that here in the Caribbean where I currently keep my stuff...we have colours and we have colours!

Your snowphoto is gorgeous!
