Sea of Dreams

Sea of Dreams by Jo Bradford

Like summer waves on sands of snow,
Soft ringlets clasp her neck and brow,
And wandering breezes kiss away
A threaded light of glimmering spray,
That drifts and floats and softly flies
In a golden mist about her eyes.

Poetic musings by Dowell O'Reilly

Translucent

Translucent by Jo Bradford

I have been enjoying immersing myself in my photography in my studio these last few weeks. The front area of my studio has large north facing windows, an artists dream from a lighting point of view. I am also lucky to have a wonderful plant nursery in the shared yard at my studio workshop space. I often scrape together my pennies and pop into the greenhouse to see what delights have been nurtured there by the loving hands of Mary and John, whose business it is. I loved this shoot I did last week as the early evening light in my studio was filling the room with a warm glow. The translucent petals were positively radiating coloured light as I worked, and the scene filling my lens was rather reminiscent of stained glass windows.

Moor Memories

"Full many a glorious morning have I seen

Flatter the mountaintops with sovereign eye,

Kissing with golden face the meadows green,

Gilding pale streams with heavenly alchemy"
